Both Sanchez and Parisyan were a couple of fights away from the Welterweight title, and in 2006’s fight of the year, they collided. In an action-packed fight which included Parisyan using his judo skills to toss Sanchez around the Octagon and Sanchez knocking Parisyan’s tooth out with a vicious knee from the clinch, ‘The Nightmare’ was the one that earned the decision.
